It has been so hot and humid outside lately and since it's frowned upon to go out in public in your swimsuit ;) I have been on the hunt for clothes that I can stay cool in. Flowy tops are perfect for the hot temps and this one is under $20 and comes in a few other colors. It ties at the back and is super lightweight. I linked a few other flowy tops below that will be perfect to wear all summer long.

This top is one I have had on my Amazon wishlist for so long and for whatever reason just haven't pulled the trigger. Well, I wish I wouldn't have waited so long because it is just as good in person as it was on the website! I love the fun poms and embroidery detail and it really got me in the mood for summer fashion. I linked some of summer steals below that are cute and affordable.

Summer Steals

  • This kimono would make such a cute beach coverup and also would look cute with jean shorts, a tank and a big pair of sunnies.
  • These sandals have been popping up everywhere this season and for good reason. They are the Hermes dupe and look identical to the designer pair. They're currently on sale for under $40 (the lowest I've seen them yet!).
  • This little floral peplum tank is only $10 and would look so cute with jean shorts or distressed denim and sandals or wedges for date night.
  • Straw bags are everywhere this season and so is the circle bag trend. I think it is so silly when I see a straw bag selling for hundreds of dollars....It.is.made.out.of.STRAW lol! This little crossbody us under $20, the perfect price point for a trendy seasonal item!
  • I stumbled upon this dress on one of my Amazon rabbit hole searches and think the color are print are so pretty and would look great with a tan. It would be so cute with heels and statement earrings to wear to a wedding or wedges and a clutch for a bridal shower
  • I am a sucker for colorful clutches (and bags in general if you didn't notice ;)). And this little cutie is so fun to throw in your beach bag to transition from pool/beach to dinner or happy hour.
  • These high waisted twill tie shorts are adorable and would look cute with a black or white tank or tee tucked in with gold sandals and jewelry. I am also loving these denim shorts with the stud detail.
  • These leopard wedges are so fun and look comfy too!
  • I am on the hunt for some new swimsuits that aren't super cheeky (if you know what I mean). Love this fun striped one piece and this red bikini as well. I'm going to do a post later this month on affordable swimsuits, so be on the lookout for that.

Summer Dresses under $50

Happy Monday! It is definitely warming up all over the country and time to pull out those summer dresses! I love to add a few to my closet each season but don't want spend too much on them since I only wear them for one season a year (save on trendy/seasonal items and splurge on closet staples you wear year round is my motto!). The dress I have on above is super lightweight and comes in a few other prints. I love that it ties at the waist. You can throw this one on for a wedding with heels or dress it down for a BBQ with sandals. I found a BUNCH of really cute dresses that I adore that are all under $50 below!

I hope you found something you love!

Basics You Need In Your Closet

t-shirt (on sale for $5!)  ||  denim  ||  sandals  ||  necklace  ||  sunnies  ||  bag  ||  watch c/o

I've said this before but accessories are my all time favorite part of an outfit. Don't get me wrong, I am a big clothes junky too but I tend to stick to more basic pieces or at least I have been as I get older so that I can mix and match and create more looks and then go with more eccentric or statement pieces when it comes to accessories. I love a good basic t-shirt that I can dress up or down and wanted to share with you my go to must have basics. I plan on doing a must have accessories post soon too but wanted to break it up.

Basics you need in your closet:

  • A black t-shirt and white t-shirt both go with everything and are super versatile. I always throw these in my suitcase when I travel.
  • A dark pair of jeans (not distressed) and a distressed pair of jeans. I am all about the distressed denim trend but sometimes you need to something a little more dressy to pair with blouses (think casual friday at work or to church).
  • A black cami and a white cami (are you seeing a trend here?). These are perfect to layer. You can wear them with shorts and jeans in the summer and with chunky cardigans and booties in the fall. They're also perfect for all you girls that need to dress up for work, throw it on with a pair of dress pants and a blazer or cardigan or tucked in to a pencil skirt with heels.

  • A really good pair of black leggings. I am all about saving some money but when it comes to a great pair of leggings this is something you don't want to skimp on. I have two favorites in my closet and honestly, that is enough for me. My Lululemon Wunder Unders were definitely a splurge but well worth it. There is a reason this pair of leggings has a cult following. They are SUPER flattering and comfortable and stay in place when working out (or ya know, running to get Starbucks haha).   My second favorite pair are my Zella Live In Leggings. This pair is more affordable and have so many great reviews.
  • A LBD is probably a no brainer but truly such a staple in every women's closet. I like to keep two in mine. One that is more casual and can be worn in an "everyday" setting and one that I can dress up  for a wedding, shower, date night and xyz.
  • Last but not least, a denim jacket. You've probably noticed that this is something I wear A LOT and with good reason. Not only is it super comfy but it is very versatile and can be worn spring, summer and fall. I also love a good utility jacket, especially in the spring and fall.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
